Southern Track Riders, now in its 15th year, is a non profit making club which prides itself on offering track time to members who otherwise may not be given the opportunity to enjoy the "Speedway experience". The club caters for riders of all abilites with a range of classes available although in order to participate in the main racing events riders MUST be 15 years of age or above. Non-Riding members are most welcome and not only help to top up club funds but can help out on the administration side and/or at meetings as Flag marshall etc. All STR events are held on SCB Licensed Tracks on hire to the club from various Promoters.

MEMBERSHIP: Club membership is available, at £15 per speedway year. All members will receive regular STR Newsletters to keep them updated on events, inform of results etc.

STR MEETINGS: The fee for entry to meetings is currently £30. All entries must be with The STR Meeting Organiser a minimum of 7 days prior to the date of the event along with the appropriate fee.

MACHINES:  All machines must be of Speedway Type as NO Grasstrack Machines, or similar, are permitted.There is no restriction on the type or age of the Machine used however it is the riders responsibility to be competitive. All machines MUST be fitted with a Dirt Deflector. These do not have to be League acceptable but must not be a rigid fixture.The only exception to this will be for a very few older type machines with the agreement of meeting organisers and track staff..

CLOTHING: Crash  helmets, in good condition and to the reommended ACU specification must be used. Leathers, or similar acceptable clothing must be worn in good condition with no rips or broken zips etc, along with goggles, boots and safety gloves. All riders must carry, on their person, identification to include date of birth and blood group. All clothing and machinery must be available for  inspection by the Machine Examiner at least 1 hour prior to the start of the event. The club cannot accept responsibility for any item that fails the test and rider and machine will be excluded from taking part if the faults are not rectified.

LICENCE: All riders must hold an SCB Speedway Permit that can be purchased by contacting The ACU at ACU House, Wood Street, Rugby, Warks, CV21 2YX TEL:-01788 566400.

RACE DAYS: All entrants must sign on when arriving and receive their race programme and then pass the Machine Examiners testing before they will be allowed on the track. All riders will have a minimum of 5 races weather permitting. dependent on the entry received Trophies will be available for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd in each class. Riders using day membership will ride as guests, points will not count and they will not be eligible for any trophies. STR will not be held responsible for rain off's etc and it is the responsibility of the entrants to ensure the Meeting Organiser have the correct contact details especially emergency and mobile numbers.  All riders must respect STR Officials and be ready to take to the track when requested. Abuse of Regulations and/or Officials will not be tolerated and action will be taken. Persistent disregard will result in expulsion  from the meeting and/or the club.

CLASSIFICATION:

OPEN CLASS: This class is for the more experienced riders and those excluded from other classes.

INTERMEDIATE CLASS: This class is for riders with more experience who are not yet ready for the open class.

NOVICE CLASS: This class is for the less experienced. Any rider with league experience will be excluded from this class. Any New member declaring themselves a Novice will be allowed entry but will be assessed on the day and may be requested to move to a different Class if needed.

OVER40's CLASS: This class is for any member who does not mind admitting they are 40 or over on the day of the meeting.

CHAMPIONSHIP MEETINGS: Riders will need to qualify for entry into all Championship Meetings, qualification of which will be printed in the newsletter.

Classes at STR Meetings are dependent upon the entries  received, the Meeting  Organiser reserves the right to schedule classes as necessary.
